APHA has about 110-120 elected directors, who make the rules by which the association is governed. Past presidents, former Distinguished Service Award winners and elected directors who have a cumulative tenure of 30 years or more retain the title of lifetime director-at-large, which ensures voting privileges so long as their APHA membership remains current and in good standing.
