The regular AQHA shows began Monday morning with nearly 190 goes of Trail and a 9 point Senior Trail class!

We’re looking for five horsemen or -women to advantage of Stormy and Barbara’s patience and experience and bring their Paint Horses as participants for this free clinic. After a one-hour general session, spectators will watch first-hand as the pair put their gentle, effective and practical horsemanship techniques to work. This regional championships features four days packed with a variety of classes, starting with reining at 7:30 a.m. on June 15 in the Amarillo National Center at the Tri-State Fairgrounds. Now until September 30, 2016, stallions can be subscribed to the Breeders’ Trust for 1.5 times their highest advertised stud fee—if your stallion’s stud fee is $600, for example, the subscription fee would be $900. Subscribing your stallion to the Breeders’ Trust makes all of his 2017 foals eligible for Breeders’ Trust nomination, giving them opportunity to earn cash back for APHA points earned in most Open and Amateur events and access to APHA’s lucrative Breeders’ Futurity events.

“The four-year-old futurity horse concept has been discussed by good horsemen and breeders for years,” says Amanda Brumley, whose company produced the Wild Card Reining Challenge. “This show should challenge other horsemen to provide more opportunities for young horses that need extra time to mature, train and prepare for competitive reining, both physically and mentally.”
