“I really like that YES attendees learn so much about leadership,” said Ralls. “This seminar also gives the adults an opportunity to share ideas, plan events and gain knowledge about programs and scholarships. As a parent, I have watched my own children, as well as others, gain confidence and make lifelong friends.”

For the second year in a row, the Zone 12 European Championships claimed the No. 1 spot. Taking place August 27–September 2 in Kreuth, Germany, the event brought in 1,425 entries and 256 horses.

Show competitors walked away with smiles and lots of prizes; some of the more notable awards were the APHA 2018 ZONE 9 Florida High Point Horse, which went to Wicked Roses, owned by Kayla Martin, and the APHA 2018 ZONE 9 Florida Reserve High Point Horse, which went to Unchippable Investment, owned by Rachael Doern.

Auburn went 4-1 in Horsemanship to kick off the meet. Sophomore Kara Kaufmann opened up the team points with a 75-72.5 win over Quinn Brandt. Redshirt junior Kelsey Jung and freshman Deanna Green each earned their eighth win of the year as Jung topped Madison Thiel, 72-70.5, and Green bested Megan Overberg, 75.5-72. Green, of Pilot Point, Texas, was awarded her fifth Most Outstanding Performer honor of the season for her ride.

Committee meetings are open to registered convention attendees and are conducted in two sessions: a session in which non-committee members can join in the discussion of the committee and a session in which the discussion is limited to committee members only. Occasionally, a meeting may move into a “committee members only” session per direction of the committee or chairperson, and only committee members are allowed in the room at that time.

This year’s boot camps will be held June 14-16 in Camden, South Carolina; June 19-21 in Cloverdale, Indiana and July 10-11 in Loveland, Colorado.

SPRINGTOWN, Texas – The No. 7 TCU Horned Frogs equestrian squad defeated No. 8 South Dakota State, 12-7, on a wintery Thursday at Turning Point Ranch. The Frogs have now won four of their five meets in the spring season.
