The recipients of these scholarships are the young horsemen and -women of APHA who work hard in the horse show arena and in the classroom. From different universities and colleges around the country, the recipients are awarded $1,000 scholarships for their educational pursuits. The scholarship funds for these students are donated to the foundation program by APHA members in honor of loved ones or by regional Paint Horse clubs/zones. 

More than 625 horses and nearly 500 exhibitors competed in western, English and halter events with more than 950 entries for the show. In addition to Level 3 classes, the top three Super-Select and Adequan® Level 2 competitors were also recognized within each class.

The 2020 Little Buckeye will be held in Springfield, Ohio at the Champions Center. The show will take place July 10, 11, and 12th. Jim Bound knew this Adequan® Select World Championship Show could be one for the books. Just two gold trophies short of tying the record for exhibitor with the most Select world championships, Jim brought two horses to compete in four events. He is also only the second exhibitor in the history of the 17-year show to have won the all-around title three years in a row. So, he had his sights set on breaking a couple of records. His chances were good, but one never knows.

Every year, APHA honors a select group of horsemen and Paint Horses that have proven to be the leaders and game-changers of our association by inducting them into the APHA Hall of Fame. Know of a special APHA member or Paint Horse who deserves to be recognized? The nominations for the 2020 APHA Hall of Fame Class are due December 1 and can be submitted online.

The show took place August 9th- 18th in Kreuth, Rieden. The idyllic German country panorama was the background for the chermesse dedicated to all Quarter Horse lovers.

As the biggest event in reining history, many horse enthusiasts were anxiously waiting to see the results for The Run For A Million Invitational on Paramount Network’s “The Last Cowboy.” The season finale was released on August 28 and revealed the Million Dollar Invitational results—and it was nothing short of spectacular. Two Paints—Custom Made Gun and No Smoking Required, both sons of APHA Hall of Famer Colonels Smokingun—took top honors as they tied for the event’s championship title.
