On March 26, the 2020 American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup organizers announced in a statement posted on Facebook that the 2020 Youth World Cup, scheduled for July 3-12 in the Netherlands, has been cancelled.

Increases in class entries were seen across the board. There were 22,609 AQHA entries and 4,647 NSBA class entries, including NSBA Color Breed classes. NRHA and NRCHA classes also saw increases. Sun Circuit utilized every inch of the WestWorld show grounds. Ten arenas held classes and additional arenas were available for warm up.

ApHC Cancels All Regional Shows Though May 1st; But World/National Show Still On

“With the Coronavirus spreading rapidly across the United States and our health care system nearing a tipping point, we had no choice but to cancel these shows,” said ApHC President Ken Johnson. “Nearly 40 percent of the nation’s population is now impacted by stay-at-home orders and that number is likely to rise in the weeks ahead. We have an obligation to safeguard our members and exhibitors, to the extent possible. While a very difficult decision for the entire Board, it was the socially responsible and necessary thing to do.”

The largest Paint shows of 2019 remained fairly consistent in their average numbers once again. This year, three international shows made the 2019 top shows list; the Zone 12 European Championships in Kreuth, Germany, once again topped the chart as the No. 1 show of 2019 with 1,481 entries.
