As a result, the Board of Directors has voted to allow APHA shows to have the option to use these touch-point obstacles in their patterns once again, as long as the rules comply with local safety guidelines. Effective immediately, the obstacles cited above that are listed as mandatory in the rulebook for their discipline will remain optional until further notice.

Following the Green Junior Trail class was the Six & Over Non-Pro Trail with 15 horse-and-rider combinations. Emma Gore, a youth exhibitor, held her own in this tough class and ended up taking the first-place spot with her horse, KM Genuinely Best. Courtney Mortiz and Lifes Good came in second place, followed by Rachel Trebesh and No Doubt I Shine in third.

NSBA rewards youth members for their participation in NSBA programs and encourages them to become lifelong learners, through the Smart Points program. Each NSBA point that the youth rider earns in Dual Approved or other designated youth classes will earn a money value, including Novice youth and walk-trot classes.

Young horses got to show their potential in classes like Green Hunter Under Saddle, Green Color Trail, and Green Western Pleasure. Beth Case took home the first under saddle class win of the week-long competition aboard A Blazing Legacy, owned by Courtney Suthoff. Second place was awarded to Alyse Roberts and Armageddon, while Jamie English and Its Game On placed third.
