The horse industry is on pins and needles waiting for the first installment of a new television series that will premier tonight, 9/8 pm CST. Yellowstone is the story of the Dutton family, owners of the largest contiguous ranch in the United States and the violence that erupts with land developers and clashes with an Indian reservation.

In 1919, Sir Barton won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes to achieve what’s considered the greatest accomplishment of a thoroughbred racehorse. Today, almost 100 years later, Longines had the honor of timing Justify’s win at the Belmont Stakes, marking a Triple Crown victory that has only happened 12 times before.

Guatemala is home to 228,000 horses, donkeys, and mules – the highest number of equines in any Central American country.  Guatemala is also home to 16.3 million people, with more than 9% of the population living below the international poverty line. Much of the working equine population in Guatemala is used for transporting agricultural products such as corn, beans and wood and for carrying water from wells to homes.

Interviews conducted with 38 former students, grooms, trainers, and members of his local Riding Club reveal the extent of the abuse that spanned decades and was often overlooked by disbelieving parents who were more concerned with what Williams’ status and skills as a horse trainer could do for their children, many of whom had dreams of competing at the Olympics.
