2020 FEI World Cup Finals in Las Vegas Cancelled

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI), United States Equestrian (USEF) and Las Vegas Events have announced the force majeure cancellation of the FEI World Cup™ Finals 2020 in Las Vegas. The annual equestrian competition, featuring the Olympic disciplines of Jumping and Dressage, was scheduled for 15-19 April at the Thomas & Mack Center.

After careful consideration, World Equestrian Center management has elected to close after competition ends on Sunday, March 15. The facility will remain closed for next week and we will continue to address the closures week by week. We will proactively issue updates regarding our reopening. We feel this is the right thing to do at this time.

Scheduled events for Wednesday, March 11, will continue, but all HLSR programs will be cancelled for the remainder of the event. This means that while Paint barrel racers will complete their runs that are taking place on March 11, other portions of the APHA-approved Paint Horse show taking place at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will be cancelled.

The purpose is to help accommodate legitimate therapy in compliance with the requirements of the rules. It is important to note, these are only guidelines to serve as an educational supplement.  It is important to consult a licensed veterinarian in determining whether a particular substance is required for the welfare of a horse and when determining the dosage appropriate for such horse under AQHA’s rules.
