In an effort to protect horses and other livestock in Ohio, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) is not allowing the import of horses from counties within states with confirmed and suspected cases of Vesicular Stomatitis (VSV). This restriction includes the All American Quarter Horse Congress, which is scheduled to begin in Columbus on October 1.

EC TV- Protester Runs in Front of Jumper at European Championship

That’s exactly what happened at the recent FEI European Championships in Rotterdam when a young woman ran out onto the course while Marc Houtzager was riding Calimaro. The protester had the phrase, “Stop horse slavery,” painted on her body and held a sign that said, “Horse beating is not a sport.” She was able to evade capture by officials and ran right in front of the pair while they were attempting a difficult triple combination jump. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.

In the Summary of Minutes from the July 15th ApHC Board of Directors Special Meeting of the Appaloosa Horse Club, it was determined that the Appaloosa Youth World Show and Nationals will move from Fort Worth to Indianapolis for 2021. The motion also included entering in a contract for the 2021, 2022, and 2023 shows.
