This past week, I attended the OQHA Summer Classic in Medford, Oregon and I had a blast! The majority of all the classes had at least 10 people in every class. My youth class had great numbers and the novice youth had even bigger numbers. The prizes were all fantastic, the staff was all very nice, and everything ran smoothly the whole show.
Since I just started showing Quarter Horses, I don’t know most of my barn mates on a personal level, but this weekend at the show I really got to know everyone better. Ashley Davidson was one of the competitors I got to know a lot better over the weekend. She has been competing at AQHA shows her whole life. I was lucky enough to get to watch her show at her last youth show. In the fall, she will be heading off to Texas A&M to ride on their equestrian team.
I also got to catch up with old friends, Ashley Arenz and Grace Brown. This was the first AQHA show that we were all at together. We all started showing lead line together at APHA shows!
It was an all-around great show and the Larson Performance horse group all had great rides. Mike Davis rode my horse, Where Do I Sign, aka “Tebow” in Junior and Green Trail, and both were beautiful rides. I showed Tebow in Trail, Western Riding, and Western Pleasure. I had my best Western Riding go while here.
Now, I’m headed off to the AjPHA World Show in Fort Worth, TX this week to show my gelding, Brokers Lucky Kid, in all the western events! See everyone there!
