Camille Kennedy and Laced N Whiskey
Sunday, August 3rd, Camille Kennedy and Laced N Whiskey won the L3 Youth 14-18 Showmanship at the 2024 AQHYA World Championship Show in a much-anticipated battle for top honors! First, they made the finals from a field of 70 on Saturday, then 15 teams were called back to compete in a demanding and thrilling finals pattern.
When asked about Laced N Whiskey, Camille laughingly says, “She’s a mare, and she acts like one sometimes, but I can really trust her. She’s super sweet, and she’d probably jump off a cliff if I asked. I just love her.”
For her finals pattern, she explains she focused on getting her spots right, and the extended trot, which she says is definitely a difficult maneuver for the team. “But we got it today!”
The last time Camille won the showmanship, it was four years ago in L1 Youth 13 & Under Showmanship with The Perfect Kryme. “I’ve been trying to get better and improve on everything, and today it all showed up, so I’m really happy about that!”
