The Trail Kings!

Trail at Arizona Sun Circuit is definitely a brag worthy event if an exhibitor comes out on top or even close, with huge numbers in all the classes and some of the most challenging courses to be seen in the industry.

One of the several futurity and championship titles available to exhibitors were the West Coast Breeders Futurity Classes, and Bruce Vickery and Anthony Montes swept the top spots in the program’s Junior Trail L1 class on the last Friday of the show. They also earned top honors in the Super Sires Junior Trail.

We caught up to both Bruce and Anthony at once for a rare interview at a busy Sun Circuit, and Bruce explains they purchased Snapp Out Of It when he was a two-year-old. His first time to show was in the Pleasure Versatility Challenge at the 2023 AQHA World Championship Show as a three-year-old.

“He won the pattern part of it (and the Reserve title), and then he started his actual show career in January,” explains Bruce.  “We showed in Florida in the Trail and we’ve shown here in the Trail and Western Riding.  He had his Western Riding debut here at the Sun Circuit.”

Bruce explains that Snapp Out Of It had a couple of wins in western riding, and “he kept getting better as he went. He’s really athletic, and he’s a very fun horse to train.”

Anthony says he’s super excited about Alicia Ritsema’s horse, The Way I Talk, who also keeps getting better and better.  “He has a bright future!” says Anthony.

Congratulations to the Vickery Performance Horses team, and we look forward to seeing more from these great horses!
