It’s clear that Terry Bradshaw doesn’t do things halfway. As a professional football player, his accolades during his fourteen seasons in the NFL include four-time Super Bowl winning quarterback for the Pittsburg Steelers, three Pro Bowls, and induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is also one of the most recognized and beloved figures in the entertainment industry, with movie roles, public appearances, and a popular spot as the anchor and analyst at FOX NFL Sunday and Thursday night football where his humor, deep knowledge of the sport and affability have made him a fan favorite.
Bradshaw is also an avid horseman who has been involved in the sport for over forty years. Twenty-five years ago, he established Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses (TBQH), and like his career in the NFL, he put his competitive spirit, enthusiasm, and strong work ethic into his new venture, growing Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses into a veritable powerhouse in the Halter industry. Working closely with his wife, Tammy, and a team of carefully chosen professionals, Bradshaw has developed a line of the highest quality broodmares to complement their outstanding stallion roster, producing upwards of 100 foals each spring. The growth of TBQH was fueled by Bradshaw’s love for the animal, his competitive spirit, and a desire to contribute to the equine industry.
Bradshaw’s passion for horses was instilled in him by his grandfather. He explains, “I always loved horses. My grandfather farmed with Clydesdales and I used to ride them when he plowed the field. I loved the smell. I started with roping but got dragged by a horse, and the Steelers weren’t happy with that. So, I moved into the Halter arena. I didn’t know much about them, but I came across a Quarter Horse Journal and I started studying the Quarter Horses. I began seeing some gray horses, which I loved. The great stallion Jackie Bee was one I loved; he was owned by Duane Walker. I got in touch with Duane and we have been friends ever since. He has been one of the greatest influences and mentors to me in the horse world.”
Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses is dedicated to producing top caliber horses for every level of competitor and promoting Halter as a lifetime family activity. Tammy Bradshaw describes the mission of the breeding and sales program, “Our goal at the ranch is to breed quality horses that people can afford and enjoy. Having a good or great horse shouldn’t be out of reach for the average family. Horses are a great way to bring a family together so they should be able to afford to buy one and feel they can compete with it. Doing this while keeping in mind the health and well-being of all our horses is what we thrive on.”
