WACO, Texas – Following wins against No. 1 Georgia and Big 12 Conference foe TCU, Baylor is the nation’s new No. 1 collegiate equestrian teams, according to this week’s National Collegiate Equestrian Association national team rankings, announced on Tuesday and determined by the NCEA selection committee.
Baylor moves from its No. 3 spot a week ago to this week’s national-leading position. Kansas State, which was idle last weekend, checks in at No. 2. South Carolina and Auburn also were both idle and are ranked No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
Georgia, which dropped a pair of road competitions to Baylor and SMU this past weekend, is No. 5 in this week’s rankings. SMU moves up two spots to No. 6, while Oklahoma State, which was idle, is No. 7.
TCU dropped a conference competition to Baylor and drops one spot to No. 8, while Texas A&M, which earned a win against South Dakota State this weekend, is No. 9. New Mexico State checks in at No. 10.
The 2015 NCEA Championship will take place April 15-18 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
