The main event during the VQHA Spring Breakout show, March 15-17 in Lexington, VA. was undoubtedly the Virginia Maiden 3 and Over Western Pleasure class. With a total purse of $33,810, the Virginia Maiden saw a number of talented, young Western Pleasure prospects compete for their share of the prize money and some great awards.

They are heavily prevalent in the environment and can mimic a body’s hormones, blocking real ones from doing their jobs. Because of this, they are known to produce harmful effects in humans and wildlife. Horses likely come into contact with EDCs through their food.

Julian Harris riding The Classic Asset for owner, Karen Ripper, and Valerie Kearns riding Ima Inpulse Assets for owner, Maria Lemenger, tied for the win. They each took home a check for $1,333. Julian Harris and his 3-year old-gelding, The Classic Asset, won the tiebreaker judge to take home the champion trophy and prizes including a Back on Track Saddle Pad, Pard’s Gift Certificate, Cinch Vest, ILQHA polo wraps, and championship neck ribbon.

AQHA Opposed to Legislation Intending to Ban Race-Day Medication
