Body image is the way you see yourself; it’s your personal perception of your physical appearance. Having a positive body image means that, most of the time, you see yourself accurately and feel comfortable in your own skin.

Ever since childhood, we’ve been encouraged to share with others. Each of us can recall being asked to share our food, our toys, and even intangibles like our time and goodwill.

In many of our favorite fairytales, a princess waits patiently for a knight in shining armor to rescue her aboard his noble steed. The knight
is handsome and strong, and his equine companion is typically white. Often, the princess waits for years, enduring all sorts of turmoil, before she and her knight can ride off into the sunset aboard his valiant steed.

Our lives are surrounded by numbers—gas prices, cell phone numbers, entry fees, the number of likes on a Facebook photo, and horse show back numbers. We all have our favorite go-to numbers. Some choose numbers that reference a birthday or anniversary; a lucky number or combination of even or odd numbers; or a number pairing that has special significance or meaning.

At 12 years old, Tracey Hehr was horse crazy. Like many in the horse show crowd, she began her equestrian career on the back of a Shetland pony, competing in all-around events at 4-H and local open shows in Mason, Michigan.

It takes an extraordinary person to earn the respect of the entire horse industry. When it’s an entire family that has done so, you know you have a remarkable group.
