WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association on Tuesday announced the latest Farnam Team Rankings for collegiate equestrian, as determined by the NCEA Selection Committee.
The No. 1 Auburn Tigers took home the first win of the season last Thursday with a 15-4 victory over UT Martin on the road at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Center.
The No. 2 spot goes to the Georgia Bulldogs who compete for the first time this season on October 5 when they travel to No. 9 South Carolina. No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 4 Oklahoma State hold their positions this week. The two teams are slated to compete this Friday, September 28, in College Station, Texas.
No. 5 SMU jumps up a spot this week after a 2-0 weekend on the road against Sweet Briar College and South Carolina. The No. 6 spot goes to the TCU Horned Frogs, No. 7 to the Baylor Bears, and No. 8 to the Fresno State Bulldogs.
The South Carolina Gamecocks check in at No. 9 following an 0-1 weekend at home against the SMU Mustangs. Rounding out the top 10 are the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
An action packed weekend is ahead with the Willis Invitational happening on September 28 and 29. No. 7 Baylor, No. 8 Fresno State, Delaware State and UT Martin will all compete in a tournament style format in Waco, Texas. Additionally, Delaware State heads to No. 6 TCU, No. 4 Oklahoma State travels to No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 9 South Carolina is on the road against SEC rival and No. 1 team, Auburn.
