Paying attention to every detail is imperative when competing at a World Show. While many exhibitors were showing in Cutting, Boxing, Working Cow Horse and Team Penning over the weekend, others were putting the finishing touches on their show apparel. To me, a perfectly shaped hat and freshly shined boots are absolute necessities before entering the show pen! As I walked around the show grounds, I noticed many others felt the same way.
Melissa Miller of Belden, TX, was seen getting her hat shaped at Shorty’s Caboy Hattery. Melissa had a great go in Boxing. Later, I saw Kim Laser of Huntsville, Alabama, getting her boots polished on the mezzanine by the ladies at Shine To Go. Kim shows in Reining and knows all those little details come together to make a great run happen.
After the show on Saturday, exhibitors attended the Members Plus Reception at the VIP Club inside the arena. On Sunday morning, Buddy Fisher gave a Ride the Pattern Clinic for Trail and offered excellent tips for having a smooth Trail go. A Ranch Riding Ride the Pattern Clinic was also a big hit!
The Western Pleasure prelims were held and 15 great horses returned to the finals. World Champions were crowned in Ranch Sorting, Boxing, Working Cow Horse, Performance Stallions, Geldings, and Mares. Also, Ken and Laina Banks sponsored a wonderful barn party with all the fixings! Friends from all over the country swapped stories and laughter.
