The first line in the premium for the Washington State Paint Horse Club Star Spangled Classic of July 22-24, 2022, in Evergreen State Equestrian Park in Monroe, Washington, says this:
The Star Spangled Classic is committed to the Inspiration and Celebration of fellow Paint Horse enthusiasts.
The three-judge event hosted SHOW 1, Friday – Saturday with Judges: Christine Strine, Jan Larson, and Jodi Moore. SHOW 2, Saturday Sunday, had Judges: Teresa Pelton, Casey Orr (AQHA) Tracey Willis (AQHA). It also hosted a WSQHA Ranch and Trail Special Event that was AQHA and WSQHA approved.
The show’s big emphasis on youth was evident Friday evening as they kicked off stick horse classes, a youth party, and a silent auction.
“Our stick horse classes and youth party were a huge success!” says WSPHC Member Kory Kumar. “Spectator kids, siblings, trainer kids not showing and youth exhibitors came out to play. Tammie Whitt volunteered to judge the horsemanship class. We had halter and cone racing. Then pinatas & pizza party!”
Thank you to Kory Kumar, Becky Paulson, and Patty Baker for the great candid photos of the youth events!
