The 2022 North Carolina Quarter Horse Association’s Tar Heel Summer Classic was held June 9-12, 2022, at the James B Hunt Horse Complex, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Judges for the event were Randy Wilson, Eric Hubbard, Jimmy Daurio, Jamie Dowdy, Bob Johnson, and Lisa Ligon.
In addition to great competition, exhibitors were able to enjoy activities like The Equine Chronicle Friday Doughnut Day. It has been a tradition for the past 15 years for the doughnuts to be “on us” Friday at the Tar Heel Summer Classic! Krispy Kreme opened its doors in 1937 in Old Salem in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Photos of exhibitors and judges enjoying their doughnuts can be found here in the G-Man’s gallery: http://www.equinechronicle.com/around-the-rings-at-tar-heel-classic-with-the-g-man-2/
On Saturday, June 11th, everyone was thrilled to watch the Heroes Horsemanship Challenge – Presented by AQHA Wrangler and AQHA Professional Horsemen with the help of NCQHA. The challenge is a way for horse trainers and the American Quarter Horse community to give back to the military members and families that have sacrificed so much. Watch for coverage of this very special event on our page on Tuesday, June 14th.
