Around the Rings Photos and Results – 2022 NSBA World Championship Show – 8-20-22
Saturday was an exciting day at the NSBA World Championship Show, and a notable one, too. Vickery Performance Horses took the top four spots of 127 in the working order for a tough Senior Trail class! Results can be found below.
In the Western Pleasure arena, competition was stiff, and Kristen Galyean and KM Suddenly So Easy persevered by winning the NSBA Maturity Non Pro Western Pleasure with earnings of $1345.40, but more importantly, one of the esteemed classes of the show.
“The maturity is always the toughest class of the horse show,” Kristen says. “The best of the best are in there, and they’re all very seasoned, very trained and at the top of their game, so you have to make sure you’re at the top of your game also. With “Penelope,” I try to stay out of her way and do my job to show her.”
Kristen explains they pick and choose what they show Penelope in to keep her loving her job, and plans are to have their daughter show her more next year. They bought her to have babies, and she currently has a VS Code Red yearling they’re excited about that will go to Aaron Moses next year.
“Her future boyfriends are Code Red, Flatline and Fireman,” Kristen explains. “I always thought she was one of the best pleasure horses to ever enter the show pen, and Ken and Marilyn Masterson were kind enough to give me the opportunity to have her. I always keep them informed of what’s going on with Penelope, and I’m really thankful they gave me the opportunity to own her. She’s one of a kind – a blessing for sure.”
Later in the NSBA Green Junior Western Riding, Sara Simons and Dirtie Money cinched the top spot with earnings of $1145.20 for Mike and Michelle Preston. Michelle says one of the reasons she purchased Dirtie Money was for his prospective career at changing leads. Sara Simons explains, “He was awesome today – he’s only been shown at the Sun Circuit and one other time in Western Riding his whole life, so he’s extra green, but he won at Sun Circuit and now he’s winning here, and I’m so excited. He’s a beautiful lead changer, and a beautiful mover.” Sara explains that “QB’s” ears are always up, and he’s a happy stallion.
