NSBA World Championship Show
Wednesday, August 17th, was a day for celebration at the NSBA World Championship Show!
Early on Wednesday in the Mustang Arena, Jenna Berghorst and Al Be Seeing Ya, aka Tom, took top honors in Youth Hunter Under Saddle 14-18, and Jenna says it was a lot of fun. “I was a little nervous coming around the corner when he didn’t want to steer – I was close to someone and trying to move him over and he was not moving over – but after we got around that, it was just super fun and he was being amazing. He has been so good; we won the Level One Champion of Champions, and we were Bronze at Youth World; he’s been awesome,” Jenna says.
Then in the first class of the day in the Ford Truck Arena, Evon Werner’s horse, Snap It Send It, ridden by Blake Weis, won Senior Western Riding. Evon explains she appreciated the pattern used for the class, only run at NSBA World because of their stage in the middle, because it allows the horses to move forward. About “Bailee’s” pattern, Evon says, “She was gorgeous and flawless.” Evon explains Bailee is going to continue to be campaigned by Blake and going to have some babies because she’s just a great mare. “She’s beautiful – one in a million.”
Later in the Amateur Western Pleasure, JR Cook and Line Up Behind were just coming off the momentum of a win from Tuesday night’s 4-6 Year Old Non Pro Western Pleasure, and he grabbed the top spot in this class, too. “He’s been a heck of a horse,” JR says of the five-year-old. “We’ve had him since he was three, we won a lot with him when he was three, and last year was his first year as a junior horse, and we had a hugely successful year. He just keeps getting better and better. I keep thinking one day he’s going to plateau, every time I think he’s shown us everything he’s got, he shows us a little more.”
JR says he felt so solid for the Amateur Pleasure, he could have loped around there all day. “For one to show as consistent as he does, they have to love their job, and he does. He’s just that special.”
The first trail class of the day in the Pavilion Arena was Junior Trail, and last year’s horse of the year, Hot Lopin Lily, had a beautiful run to win the Junior Trail World Championship Title. See what owner Carolyn Cavallo had to say in our EC TV video:
