Around the Ring Photos and Results- AzQHA No Bling May Show

It turns out that people LOVE the No Bling concept! Arizona Quarter Horse Association delivered what the people want May 4-5 with a No Bling event at the WestWorld at Scottsdale, AZ. Previously a single day show, this year, a No Bling Jumping show took place the day prior with judges Leo Fourre and Clark Parker.

Connie Hay, AzQHA Show Secretary, explained the concept. “These shows are set up for those that are new to showing or have a new horse that needs some arena time. With these No Bling shows, we have added the Versatility Ranch Horse show, and they run a full slate of VRH classes, including cattle classes. We now look to have Jumping added to the schedule of No Bling shows.”

“Even when the temperature outside was over 100 degrees, we still had exhibitors showing, running in and out of the shade, and trying to stay cool. At this show, we had a donation of ‘vintage’ trophies, donated by Sherry Coakes. Our show manager, Dana Yingling, had them freshened up and had new plates made. The trophies were a big hit with all of the youth that got to choose whichever trophy they wanted.”

“Our next No Bling show will take place on a new date and location. It will be in Tucson and on October 13th at the Tucson Fairgrounds.”
