Around the Rings – Arizona Sun Circuit, March 9, 2023

On Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Scottsdale Arizona Sun Circuit, the Youth arrived and began showing in Arena 4! Amateur and open exhibitors competed in Trail, Western Pleasure, Cowhorse, Ranch Riding, Ranch Rail, and Reining. Amateurs also competed in their second Horsemanship class of the show.
On Thursday morning in the Equine Chronicle Arena, Loni Brewster and Willy Worth It cinched the overall class in in L1 Amt Western Horsemanship for the second time in the show.
Loni, who rides with Shannon McCullough, says she bought “Willy” from Lauren Stanley in September and he went to Shannon’s in November, and this is their second show. Loni rode with April and Casey Devitt as a youth, and she was introduced to Shannon by Charlie Cole, who in fact found Willy for her.
When she tried Willy out in California, she says she loved him immediately. “He is incredibly kind; he is a pleaser and he wants to make you happy.”
“He’s only four,” adds Loni, “and Shannon has done amazing with him in a short time. Showmanship is actually my favorite event, but I do like Horsemanship and Trail used to be my thing when I was a youth, and Willy is going to be a good pattern horse. I’m liking Horsemanship more and more as the day goes on!”
