The historic American Quarter Horse and American Paint Horse shows were again a highlight in Denver. Featuring the working horses of our Western heritage, the shows contained halter, roping, barrel racing, ranch trail and ranch riding events. Exciting head-to-head matchups concluded the roping portion with breakaway, tie-down, heading and heeling contests for the youth and amateur qualifiers. The Quarter Horses took three of the four finals leaving breakaway to the Paints. Barrel racing was also featured in the storied Denver Coliseum.
Garnering a record number of entries, ranch trail, ranch riding and halter events took place in the CINCH Arena in the Events Center. Many champions and six high point winners were named over the three days between the two breeds:

AQHA Youth – Westies Playgun, owned by Lee Frazier and shown by Jadalynn Frazier
APHA Open – Rolex N Starlight, owned by Joni Voloshin and shown by Jack Wright
APHA Amateur – Kellies Tru Bruiser, owned and shown by Leah Mackey
APHA Youth – Space Cowboy, owned and shown by Skyler Whaley
