Around the Rings – 2023 Oregon Classic Hoppy Horse Derby

The Oregon Classic, held April 3-9, 2023, at Oregon Horse Center in Eugene, Oregon has two circuits with 8 judges total, and it’s Oregon Quarter Horse Association’s premier show of the year! They offer all-around saddles, high point saddles, circuit champion buckles, reserve circuit champion jackets, and more!

But the competition offered extends much further than just traditional classes. The Oregon Quarter Horse Youth Association has a little competition of their own called the Oregon Classic Hoppy Horse Derby.

Here’s what Meghan Blyth, OQHA Youth Advisor, has to say:

“The 2023 Oregon Classic HOPPY HORSE DERBY hosted by the Oregon Quarter Horse Youth Association was a huge success! Congratulations to our winning team “Charlie’s Angels” who pulled off the win with a nose dive photo finish on the final leg!

Also, congratulations to team, “Homeless Hoppers” who won best costume and the highest bid award!”
