The APHA/NSBA Zone 9 Southern Classic six judge show recently took place in Perry, GA. Despite some cold weather, competitors enjoyed staying toasty warm in the new climate controlled Perdue Arena at the Georgia National Fairgrounds.
The show boasted big classes, huge numbers, great prizes, terrific judges, delicious food, and a lot of fun visiting with old and new friends. We also enjoyed an amazing turnout of youth, due in part to the addition of APHA’s Youth 11-18 Walk Trot Division, as well as the offering of a great flat fee for our youth members.
Show Manager, Amanda Williams Palmer, is looking forward to seeing the positive impact that the new division will have on youth numbers for APHA. “I feel that the addition of this division will help us to expand the participation within our youth. We’re very encouraged with the participation in this division at our first two shows this year, and we’re looking forward to seeing the growth of this division for 2020.”
Best of all was the return of the Carney Performance Horses family following the devastating barn fire earlier this year. We were all so happy to have them back showing with us.
Thanks to all of our staff and volunteers that helped to make this show such a wonderful event. You are all appreciated more than you will ever know.
Special thanks to Brenna Weaver and Superlative Equine for capturing all the special moments this weekend. We hope that many of you will support her by purchasing photos as she has been so generous by donating donated awards and prizes during the event.
