AQHA to Debut Specialized Ranch Riding Judges

Applicants will be able to test and become certified as a specialized ranch riding judge during the AQHA Educational Judging Seminar December 12-14 in Irving, Texas. A ranch riding educational session and a video testing session will occur during the seminar. Individuals will be approved by the AQHA Judges Committee based on test scores and other criteria.
The AQHA Judges Committee met at the 2016 AQHA Convention and Versatility Ranch Horse classes, tie-down roping, heading, heeling and ranch riding were selected for education and recertification for existing AQHA all-around, progressive and Level 1 carded judges at the December Educational Judging Seminar.
Along with this, tests for certification as specialized judges for ranch riding and Versatility Ranch Horse classes will be administered.
Individuals who make a passing grade will have their names added to the list of approved judges for either ranch riding or Versatility Ranch Horse. After approval from the Judges Committee, the judges will also need approval from the AQHA Executive Committee.
