The American Quarter Horse Association has renewed support for the 2023 American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup. Since its inception in 1978, YWC has been an educational, leadership-based event where youth from every country have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in their respective disciplines over the course of the week-long competition.

The Youth World Cup is more than just a competition, it offers a chance for international American Quarter Horse enthusiasts to learn from the industry’s leading riders and trainers, and enjoy fellowship with other AQHYA members. Throughout the competition, each country will ride for gold medals in cutting, reining, horsemanship, ranch riding, trail, western riding, hunt seat equitation, hunter under saddle and showmanship.

This year’s Youth World Cup is slated for June 29 – July 8, held in conjunction with the 2023 Youth Excellence Seminar, in Bryan-College Station, Texas. YES welcomes AQHYA members and nonmembers, ages 10 to 18, to experience this three-day, fun-packed event that offers valuable leadership skills, inspiring speakers and AQHYA governance items.

About the American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup

The American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup was first contested in 1978 in Australia with three teams: Canada, Australia and the United States. The international event is hosted every two years by a different country. AQHA is a sponsor of the American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup in which youth riders attend clinics and compete on American Quarter Horses provided by the host country. Each country can send a team of two to five as well as leadership team members.
