This year, the American Quarter Horse Foundation is awarding more money in scholarships to more students than ever before: 76 students will receive a total of $700,250 to support their education over their academic career.

“The American Quarter Horse Foundation and its community of donors is proud to create impact for our industry by supporting the educational goals of tomorrow’s equine industry leaders,” said Anna Morrison, chief Foundation officer. ”It is the collective passion and generosity of our American Quarter Horse family that supports our youth in chasing down their educational dreams, and it is these same youth who will impact the future of the horse we love so much.”

See the impact a Foundation scholarship can have by watching a newly released video featuring Dr. Jessica Leatherwood, who received the AQHF Youth Scholarship in 2003.

Since its inception in 1976, the Foundation scholarship program has awarded more than $6.8 million in financial assistance to more than 1,300 American Quarter Horse Youth Association members. Depending on specific scholarship criteria, recipients are selected based on financial need, academic merit, equine involvement and civic activities.
