APHA Youth Scholarship Applications Due March 1st

Spring is nearly here, and for high school seniors, college is around the corner. Sweating the cost of tuition? Make sure to get your application in for a shot at the American Paint Horse Foundation’s annual academic scholarships. APHF provides about 50 scholarships each year to APHA or AjPHA members who have been actively involved in the association.
Scholarship applications are available on the APHF website and must be postmarked by March 1. Applications should be mailed to:

In 2015, APHF awarded more than 50 annual $1,000 scholarships. Take a look at these tips from the February 2016 Paint Horse Journal article “Time to Shine” to improve your odds.
- Take your time. Fill out the application thoroughly and in detail. If you can’t complete a section, explain why.
- Reference all your activities. Showing diversity in your activities and interests is a good way to make an impression on evaluators.
- Plan ahead. Clearly explain your goals and how you plan to accomplish them in your essay. Be sure to include activities you’ve participated in that will contribute to your success.
