According to a piece from the Fort Worth Business, the American Paint Horse Association has signed a letter of intent to move its headquarters from the current location at the Mercantile Center business park in northwest Fort Worth to the Fort Worth Stockyards Horse & Mule Barns at East Exchange Avenue. This area of the Stockyards is scheduled for a $45 million restoration project that will provide 180,000 square feet of leasable space for new vendors.

Keeping with the area’s emphasis on historical preservation, it is the hope that new Stockyard tenants will reflect the area’s heritage, perhaps a local brewery, farmers market, regional cuisine restaurant, or other equine association group. The new home of APHA will be complete by late 2017 or early 2018, pending negotiations.
