PHJ release by: Elizabeth Lawhorn
The city of Houston and Houston Health Department have ordered the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo to close amid coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. Scheduled events for Wednesday, March 11, will continue, but all HLSR programs will be cancelled for the remainder of the event. This means that while Paint barrel racers will complete their runs that are taking place on March 11, other portions of the APHA-approved Paint Horse show taking place at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will be cancelled.
APHA urges members to stay safe and use discretion while traveling during this time. Learn more about ways to protect yourself at CDC.gov.
