PHJ press release
APHA representatives are heading out to the Sooner State this weekend to attend a pair of industry events.
First up is the annual APHA Racing and Paint Barrel Racing Incentive Program meeting on January 24 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. APHA Executive Director Billy Smith, Racing Committee Chairman Pancho Villarreal and APHA Director of Racing Karen Utecht will help facilitate the meeting, and PBRIP committee members will also be on hand to answer questions. Topics include 2013 PBRIP accomplishments, rule changes, tentative dates for 2014 events and open discussion. This meeting is open to anyone and begins at 8 a.m. at Heritage Place.
The meeting takes place in conjunction with the Heritage Place Annual Winter Mixed Sale, January 23–25. Several Paints are among the racing-bred stock horses consigned to the sale; to learn more about them, check out the article on our Flash website.
Also taking place January 24–26 is the annual Color Breed Council Judges Academy, held at the Doubletree Hotel at Warren Place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Billy Smith and APHA Director of Judges David Dellin will be among the attendees of this annual seminar, designed to educate judges who officiate APHA, ApHC, PtHA, PHBA, NSBA, AMHA, IBHA and POAC competitions.
“As a CBC member, APHA plays an important part along with all the other associations in educating their judges and members. It also serves as an informal convention for all the members of the Color Breed Council to discuss topics that are important to the members of all these organizations,” David said.
