The Novice Amateur Western Pleasure is typically the largest class of the Quarter Horse Congress each year. This year, the competition certainly did not disappoint. Nearly 200 entries were shuffled through ten splits, two semi-finals, and a finals to determine the winner this evening.
After five hours of intense competition, the Congress Champion was finally crowned. The new team of Angela Wade and Huntin Big Dreams took the win tonight. Coming in Reserve was Dan Yeager with Cee Money. Third place was Ty Paris with I’m Sleepin Single. Fourth place was Dax Atkinson and Payton Wisely Zippin. Fifth place was Brittany Bevis with Suddenlee Single.
Huntin Big Dreams, aka “Clint,” is a 2007 gelding by Huntin For Chocolate and out of Ima Bodacious Dream. He was named the 2012 NSBA Horse of the Year and accumulated multiple World and Congress Champion titles with trainer, Adam Wainscott, in the saddle. Tonight, it was Wade’s turn to pilot Clint to a win.
For those who might not remember, Wade is the returning champion from 2012 when she won a Congress Championship title in Novice Amateur Western Pleasure with One Hot Drama Mama.
Congratulations to Angela Wade and all of the finalists in this very competitive class.
