With the enormous success the 2014 Martinganza Quarter Horse Show and Futurity received this year, following a schedule move from February to April, show management is already hard at work organizing the 2015 event. Judges for 2015 have already been hired and are as follows: Kelly Chapman, Timothy Abler, Laura Gilmer, Kendra Pipkin, and John Pipkin. The official dates for the show have just been set as April 2-5, 2015.

“We’re excited and hoping for another GREAT show for Martinganza,” says Martinganza AQHA Show Secretary/Treasurer Susan Daniels. “2014 was a year of success for our club, District IV NCQHA. After struggling with snow for several years, we were able to move out of February and into April, and that was a tremendous feat. We tripled our entries and our contributions to AQHA and NSBA on approval fees.”

The huge boost in entries and participation meant that show management could continue to give back to a few of their favorite charitable causes.

“Martinganza is not just a horse show for our exhibitors,” Daniels says. “It’s also a supporter of the Equine Program at Martin Community College. Even in lean times, we still give back to this program to help with future projects. We have been able to contribute monetary support to the NC Horse Council to help with the horse industry cause. We support our NC Queen in her endeavor for the title of Queen at the Ohio Quarter Horse Congress in October, and we also contribute to our NCQHA State Crisis Fund that was created to help members in need.

In 2014, Martinganza teamed up with the Guilford Civitan Club of Greensboro, North Carolina to add one of their shows to the schedule, making Martinganza a five-show venue.

“The Guilford show had been struggling for a few years, and the club was willing to partner with us to see if it would be more beneficial than trying to go it alone,” Daniels says. “With the approval of NCQHA and AQHA, Martinganza was able to add this show to our schedule and it worked well for all of us. Martinganza well exceeded all of our expectations and Guilford Civitan will be working with us again in 2015. We appreciate and acknowledge their faith in us to do our very best for our exhibitors and the show.”

The indispensable Martinganza crew of workers, volunteers, sponsors, and exhibitors will be honored at the upcoming year-end club banquet as a way to say thank you for years of loyalty and continued support.

“Through our sponsors and our exhibitor’s loyalty and generosity, we have been able to give back,” Daniels says. “We think that’s why we have been able to survive through the difficult snow years. We would like to take this opportunity to THANK all of our sponsors, exhibitors, workers, and volunteers for their support in 2014, and we look forward to seeing you in 2015! We will once again be offering our flat fee, so it has proven to be a win win for all of us! Wishing everyone a GREAT show season.”
