Lynn Palm is a legend in the equestrian world. With a successful career spanning five decades, this dedicated professional horsewoman has helped transform the world of horse training from one of dominance and fear to a more humane approach based on training principles rooted in classical Dressage. Stressing the importance of basic fundamentals of balance, harmony and lightness of communication and fluidity of movement, the principles Palm shares have helped thousands of riders develop their skills while ensuring that their horses are willing, happy partners.
With a strong background as an all-around trainer, Palm developed a following that has grown steadily. The business she started fifty-three years ago offers a wide variety of training opportunities for horse and rider. Palm Equestrian Academy continues to thrive, offering educational programs and clinics around the world.
America’s Beloved Superhorse Rugged Lark
The evolution of Palm’s approach to training horses finds many of its roots in her incredible experience with ‘America’s Beloved Superhorse’, Rugged Lark, owned by Carol Harris and made famous by Palm for their bridle-less exhibitions–from local arenas to prestigious horse shows including a showcase at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. The talented pair exemplified the best of Dressage principles with a level of communication and harmony that was magical, capturing the hearts of horse lovers worldwide and serving as an example that Palm’s use of classical Dressage principles produced incredible results.
