It’s day one of the competition at the AQHA Select World Championship Show in Amarillo, Texas!
Sixty two exhibitors will compete in the Cutting preliminaries today. The best Select cutters in the world will show off their talented horses. Watch online for breathtaking action on the AQHA website.
I am Select Amateur, Brister Shum. My husband, Steve, and I will be showing here. I will be competing in Performance Mares with my new girl, TheCenterOfAttention, and Steve will be showing in Horsemanship with KM Born To Be Best. Sadly, my great all-around gelding, Hes Purely Dynamic, suffered a hoof injury, which requires him to take a year off. So, I am thrilled to keep busy in Amarillo by blogging for everyone on EquineChronicle.com!
Steve and I usually compete against each other. People often ask, “What happens when he beats you?” We are a team… when he wins, I win. I am thrilled, honestly. I am so proud of him learning to ride after 60! But, of course I don’t “like” getting beat. That just means I have to up my game!
Tonight will be the first of many free exhibitor parties. It’s very appropriate for us since today is our 34th wedding anniversary! Let the fun begin!
