An Illinois woman found guilty of starving four horses almost to death has been sentenced to 180 days in jail, 2 1/2 years of probation, during which she can have no contact with animals, assessed a $500 fine, and must undergo psychiatric therapy.
This same woman was previously found guilty of cruelty and neglect in 2011 and was on probation in 2013, when the new horses were discovered. In the earlier case, three of the horses died.
