Thanks to Ali Grusha for sharing some fun candid photos from the 2015 Keystone Showdown that recently took place in Centre Hall, PA. The Novice Show kicked off the event on June 17th and was judged by Lori Gingrich. The June 18-21 AQHA show was judged by Clay Cavinder, Steve Heckaman, Bob Kail, Cunthia Rucker, and Chele Mcgualy.
In 2014, the Keystone Showdown Novice Show was named the #1 Novice Show in the country. Will they be able to match their performance in 2015? Only time will tell as show counts are tabulated and finalized throughout the remainder of the show season. However, their chances definitely look promising as they offered competitors five sets of points over four days, added money classes, plenty of prizes, and random giveaways.
Competitors and spectators enjoyed the Keystone Showdown Hoedown Party on June 19th with food, fun, and entertainment. Other highlights of this year’s event included Money Bag classes in Amateur and Open Performance Halter Mares and Amateur and Open Performance Halter Geldings and a Skeeter Saddle giveaway by way of a random drawing in the Mike Whitmore Memorial Non Pro Walk-Trot class.
Added money classes included the Shootout at the Showdown, which offered $500 added in the Open Trail Shootout and $500 added in the Non Pro Trail Shootout. Payback was presented for 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th place. The High Point Western and English Horses received custom sterling buckles. Other great prizes included Blue Ribbon headstalls, an iPad Mini Air 3 giveaway, and 20X felt hats donated by Billie’s Hats for the High Point Novice Amateur and High Point Novice Youth.
