The period between September and December is typically the busiest time for AQHA when it is processing registrations, transfers and memberships for its valued customers. The Association wants to encourage people who have paperwork to send it in soon so it can be returned in a timely fashion.

“Our goal is to get our customers’ work back to them efficiently and accurately,” said AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadway. “We want to provide the highest levels of customer service and quick turnaround times. During this upcoming busy season, we want to work with our members and encourage them to send their paperwork in and/or renew their memberships sooner rather than later.”

For members who are sending in transfers of ownership, AQHA is proud to offer a low, one-time fee to transfer a horse, no matter how many owners. Effective January 1, 2015, the transfer fee will increase from $15 to $20 per horse so there is more reason to send those in before the end of the year. The transfer fee has remained at $15 since 1997.

AQHA is excited to continue to transition into using new technology to streamline and speed up the application process for all members. In 2014, AQHA improved the photo upload process for online registrations and also launched an online genetic testing order form, giving members access to these services 24/7. Any work submitted online receives expedited service, as it is typically processed the next business day.

In 2015, registrations submitted via the online system will remain at their current pricing levels. Those that are not received online will see a $5 increase. For convenience, registrations can still be mailed and faxed to AQHA; however, members will save time and money by submitting them online. By completing registrations online, members will save money on postage and won’t have to wait on the U.S. Postal Service for their paperwork to arrive at AQHA Headquarters.

As always, AQHA encourages customers to be sure their paperwork is filled out correctly and that any supporting documents and photos also are sent. Any customer who has a question can call AQHA Customer Service at 806-376-4811 for assistance.

“We want to demonstrate that we are committed to our customers and have them be as proud of the Association as we know they are of their horses,” said Treadway. “Our employees will work diligently and put in many long hours to provide members with the best, most courteous service possible at the lowest possible fees.”
