The American Quarter Horse Youth Association is proud to be a sponsor of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Hunt Seat National Finals May 16-18 in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
The mission of IEA is to introduce students in private and public middle and secondary schools to equestrian sports and to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction.
In IEA competitions, members compete with a team or on an individual basis in hunt seat, western and saddle seat disciplines. When participating with IEA, there is no need for any rider to own a horse, as the venue provides the horse and tack. All competitors must draw for horses and there is no warm up time for the riders, they get on and ride.
IEA is a non-profit organization established in 2002 to introduce students in grades 6-12 to equestrian sports. With more than 10,000 members, IEA provides middle and secondary school equestrians with organized competitive opportunities. By participating in IEA, riders are able to develop team and individual sportsmanship, as well as interests in riding instruction, competition and the horse industry.
AQHYA is excited about the future exposure of the American Quarter Horse at the IEA Hunt Seat National Finals May 16-18 in West Springfield, Massachusetts. AQHA and IEA hope to build a lasting relationship.
