The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum Youth Art Show kicked off on December 3. The public is invited to view artwork created by middle and high school students from Region 16. To prepare for the show, students learned about the role the American Quarter Horse played in the history of the United States. Each student then created artwork that depicted those lessons, along with an essay describing the art.
More than 270 students participated in the show, but only the top 150 pieces were chosen to be hung in the Hall of Fame, based on the quality of artwork, as well as the essay. The show is also an interactive exhibit with video lessons from Western artists and the opportunity for visitors to draw an American Quarter Horse.
The show is open December 3 – January 24. Admission to the Hall of Fame and the Youth Art Show is free to AQHA members. Find general admission prices and museum hours at www.quarterhorsemuseum.com.
