Get to Know a Few More Horses in the Equine Chronicle Congress Masters

The time is drawing near when an elite group of maiden two-year-old western pleasure and hunter under saddle horses will attempt to be named the 2013 Equine Chronicle Congress Masters Champion. Who will take the top title? All of the action will take place Saturday, October 26th at 7 pm in Columbus, Ohio at the Quarter Horse Congress.
The Equine Chronicle Congress Masters Western Pleasure boasts an estimated purse of $200,000 with a guaranteed $50,000 for the winner. A new limited division has been sponsored by Cinch for 2013. First place in the limited will receive $10,000, second place will receive $7,500, and third will receive $5,000. The Hunter Under Saddle Masters class also has a new limited division this year with $7,500 set aside for first, $5,000 for second, and $2,500 for third. $25,000 is guaranteed to the class winner, and the total estimated purse is $120,000.
Tickets must be purchased for the Masters event. You can buy a ticket at the Commercial Exhibit window in Congress Hall for $10. Be sure to reserve your ticket today. They are available on a first-come first-serve basis!

Interesting Fact: “He is a full brother to These Irons Are Fancy, the horse Trisha was fourth on in the Masters,” Carl Yamber says. “He is also a full brother to the one she won the Junior on at the Congress, These Irons Are Ready. Both of the sisters have done really well.
Description: “He is a nice, big, strong horse. He is a really good horse, and he should do really well. He is big, pretty, good-minded, and real sound. There are no big hangups with him.”

Interesting Fact: “We raised the mother, and we raised her,” Susan Scott says. “She is a great loper, just like her mother. She moves a lot like her, and she’s gorgeous. She’s got a great big forelock and tail.”
Why did you pick this horse for the Equine Chronicle Congress Masters? “When she was young, as a yearling out in the field, she was a great loper. We knew how great her mother was. When we got ready to break her, we decided to save her for the Masters.
Description: “She’s a really sweet mare. Her mother was extremely sweet, and she’s the same way. Her mom is now being shown in Select. It’s kind of neat how she was winning futurities, and then three years later, she is a Select horse. We are hoping this one will go on and do the same thing.”
