Abby has traveled many miles to attend the AQHA Novice Championship West. She hauled her horse with three of her friends from a barn in Moorhead, Minnesota that is operated by her trainer Darren Buckle.
Abby bought her horse from Stacy Huls in Phoenix, AZ in March of 2012. She stayed with with Stacy until May of 2013. Abby treasured her time with Stacy but really missed riding her horse daily so she moved “Kirby” back to our home area.
Abby openly tells everyone that “Kirby” is her best friend. She loves this mare with all her heart. Abby is back riding and showing with her trainer of many years Darren Buckle. She loves being back with her friends. In fact, these ladies (who are also my friends) made this trip happen for Abby. They hauled their horses and split the gas money, hotel room, and made this trip more affordable. They had already bought their tickets for Vegas but decided to help Abby and haul instead. It was a 30 hour trip.
Our trainers Darren and his wife Alisha Buckle used the flights to meet the ladies in Vegas. This worked wonderfully, because they need to get back ASAP and get another group of horses ready for another show. What a special group of friends and trainers! I wish I could attend, but it happens to be an extremely busy time for me at work. I am very bummed to miss this exciting show, but I know she is in good hands and I hope she enjoys every minute.
