Just a few moments ago, Lori Bucholz piloted Larks Happy Days to a World Championship win in Select Hunt Seat Equitation at the 2013 AQHA Adequan Select World Show. Bucholz and her beloved “Fonzie” were the unanimous choice of judges Lisa Krohn, Cindy Hale, Sarah Good, Cynthia Rucker, and Andrea Simons.
Fonzie is a bay gelding by Rugged Lark and out of Emma Big Leaguer whose specialities include pleasure driving, hunter discipline events, and over fence classes. This is undoubtedly the busiest competition day for the pair, because the majority of english events at the Select World Show fall on Friday and Saturday.
Earlier this morning, Bucholz and Fonzie park-gaited to a reserve World Champion finish in Pleasure Driving behind Hot Ones Only and Tammy Thompson-Dyer. The pair only had two classes to change tack and attire in order to compete in the Hunt Seat Equitation finals. After receiving their golden trophy and neck ribbon, they were at it again in Hunter Hack. Tomorrow afternoon they will compete in Equitation over Fences.
The Reserve World Champion in Equitation today was Penny Jargella aboard As The World Terms, a chestnut gelding by Good Terms and out of Tulamora Dew Lite. Jargella was also the first place Intermediate rider in the class. The second place Intermediate rider and third place winner in the class was Linda Coakley with Patsys Royal Secret, a brown gelding by Make My Grey and out of Patsys Chic.

The winning pair in Select Pleasure Driving today needs little introduction. Tammy Thompson-Dyer of Pilot Point, TX road-gaited Hot Ones Only, a bay stallion by Invitation Only and out of Hot Shot Hit, to a win in the class today. Judging this event were Cindy Hale, Lisa Krohn, Cynthia Rucker, Andrea Simons, and Mike Carter.
Dyer and “Bruno” were also the first place Intermediate winners in the class. Bucholz and Fonzie were the Reserve World Champions in Pleasure Driving, and Bucholz just happens to own the third place horse, Good Lukin Lark, who was shown today by Eleanor Green. Good Lukin Lark is a bay gelding by Luke At Me and out of Miss Patricia Lark. The gelding was bred by the legendary Carol Harris.
Congratulations to both of these fabulous Select competitors on their respective wins and to everyone else competing in the finals today.
