You know this select exhibitor- the one who leaves work on Friday, hooks up her trailer, loads her horse, and heads for the show. Her hubby may or may not tag along, depending on what’s happening at home. She gets to the show grounds, parks, unloads, plugs in the living quarters, saddles, and starts practicing the trail pattern. And yes, this happens all before 10 pm.
Then, she’s up bright and early, showing in the all-around classes. She stays Sunday until she’s done, then she’s up and at ’em Monday morning for work. She does it all herself, gets help when she needs it, and she’s proud of that. I know you’re thinking about the one you know- but I want to tell you about the one I know, one of the good ones, Lynn Agee of Kingsport, Tennessee.
“I raised Impressive Grace [Gracie],” Lynn says. “Over the years, I have put over 800 points on her and six superiors. She lacks three points for her Versatility. She’s bred to Too Sleepy To Zip, so this is her last Select World for awhile.”
Lynn’s show started off with a bang when she was third in a monstrous Performance Halter Gelding class on Friday in Amarillo, Texas at the 2013 AQHA Adequan Select World Show.
“What a thrill that was! I finally got a jacket with Ike, aka OHK Twisted Spoke.”
Ike is Lynn’s new all-around mount now that Gracie is in foal and taking some time off. Lynn loves showing- even earning points with Gracie in Ranch Horse Pleasure.
“I love the challenge, and I know my horse. I love going to the shows.”
We love seeing you at the shows too Lynn, and we couldn’t be happier for you. Watch for Lynn and Gracie in all her events in Amarillo this week!
