Some of the industry’s top judging talent is slated to officiate at the 2013 European Paint Horse Championship coming up September 2-8 in Kreuth, Germany. They are Leon Borcherding of Sumner, Iowa; Kenny Hall of Conroe, Texas; Chele McGauly of Elm Grove, Louisiana; Rob Meneely of Conyers, Georgia; and Michele Pearson of Cave Creek, Arizona. Last year, “EuroPaint” attracted 890 entries and ranked as the fourth largest APHA-approved show in the world and the largest held outside the U.S. and Canada.
Leon Borcherding
Returning to judge EuroPaint for a second time, Leon Borcherding trains, fits and sells World-class halter horses in Sumner, Iowa. With more than 40 years of experience in the industry and 39 years as an APHA judge, Leon has officiated at the APHA world show, the Dixie National and the Reichert Celebration. In 2005, he judged the European Paint Horse Championship held in Aachen, Germany.
Kenny Hall
Hailing from Conroe, Texas, Kenny Hall is an accomplished trainer, breeder, farrier and horse show judge with 35 years of experience in the equine industry. Over the past 20 years, he’s judged the APHA, AQHA and Palomino world shows as well as the All-American Quarter Horse Congress, along with the European Championship of American Quarter Horses and the Danish Paint Horse Masters.
Chele McGauly
Trainer and breeder Chele McGauly of Elm Grove, Louisiana, judged her first APHA World Show as a slot and speciality judge in 2011. She has 32 years of experience in the horse industry and has been judging for 18 years. In that time she has judged the AQHA and AQHYA world shows multiple times along with other premier events, including the European Championship of American Quarter Horses and Paint Horse Club Italia’s 25th anniversary show.
Robert Meneely
Professional horse trainer and coach Robert Meneely has more than 20 years experience as a judge. The Conyers, Georgia, resident has 30 years of equine experience and has judged such prestigious shows as the Reichert Celebration, the European Championship of American Quarter Horses, the European Paint Horse Championship and world show for APHA, AQHYA and PHBA. In addition to his APHA card, he holds judging credentials with ApHC, AQHA, NRHA, NSBA and PHBA.
Michele Pearson
With more than 35 years of equine experience, Michele Pearson divides her time between training hunter and pleasure horses and judging such renown events as the the Arizona Sun Country Circuit, the Texas Classic Show, the AQHYA and ApHC world shows. The Cave Creek, Arizona, resident holds judging cards with APHA, AQHA, NRHA and NSBA. She is looking forward to judging in Europe for the first time.
