Peace of Pumpkin Pie and Brian Cox win Congress for Cindy Stec

Filed under: Around The Ring Galleries,Featured,Show Results & Gallery |

Ever since Cindy Stec bought Peace of Pumpkin Pie, aka “Pumpkin,” four months ago, Cindy has called herself Cinderella.  “Because Cinderella came to the ball in a pumpkin, so I can’t wait for her to be my coach!” Cindy laughs.

After placing 12th in the Green Western Pleasure earlier at the All American Quarter Horse Congress, “Pumpkin” stepped up to win the 3YO & Over $2500 Novice Horse Open Western Pleasure Stakes with Brian Cox on Friday, earning a check for $5658.40.

Cindy says the five-year-old, by Its A Southern Thing and out of Gimme Good Vitals (VS Code Red), is just what she wanted – she’s little, and Cindy can wrap her legs around her.

In addition, says Brian, “She’s just honest and fun to show in the pen – this is the third time we’ve shown her, and it has been really good.”  It was a salty class they faced Friday, but Brian felt her consistency, particularly with her top line, paid off.

When asked if she is going to start showing Pumpkin next year, Cindy deferred to Brian. “This year!” he says. “That’s the plan.”

Since Brian is so close to Cindy, “a real gift,” she says, the new duo will be seen in the pleasure arena soon! Congratulations to the entire team!
