It’s one thing to win your three-year-old Hunter Under Saddle classes with your three-year-old horse, especially if you win two of those classes in a row, even at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.
But then to take that three year old into a class of 63 Amateur Hunter Under Saddle teams, many of which have seasoned horses, and win that class as well requires a special horse.
That exceptional horse is Shouldv Known Better, an elegant, bay gelding by Good Better Best and out of From The First Hello. For Amateur Mallory Vroegh, showing him “feels like flying!”
After she won the 3 YO Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle Stakes and the 3 YO Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle Stakes Limited, followed by the Amateur HUS, Mallory explains at this show, they’ve been undefeated – this is after she hoped off that huge, lovely horse to talk to The Equine Chronicle.
“He is such a special boy and so talented, and I can’t even say enough good things about him,” Mallory says about “Marshall.”
She has just had Marshall since early this year, and their first show together was The Premier in Kentucky, then they went on to the NSBA World Championship Show, followed by a futurity at the Corporate Challenge. Then it was on to Congress.
After the win in the big Amateur Hunter Under Saddle class, Mallory says, “He showed like a dream. He’s fun because you can just get out there and show, and for the amateur, that can be what it takes sometimes. He’s just a special boy.”
For now, he’s Mallory’s English horse, but knowing Mallory’s talent and witnessing the talent of Marshall, it won’t be long before fans will see him showcased in more events! Congratulations to Mallory and the Show Horses By Shannon team!
