Tuesday, October 15th at the 2024 All American Quarter Horse Congress, the Parrish Quarter Horse family delivered a 1-2 pitch in $10,000 Limited Horse Open Western Pleasure!
Made Ona Blue Moon with Bret Parrish were crowned Congress Champions for Cynthia Kaufman, as well as winning the Southern Belle Breeders’ portion, and Sarahenade with Cody Parrish for Jane Damaske won the Reserve title.
It was much to the delight of Cynthia Kaufman, who says she has been behind the scenes, riding and getting ready to show “Luna” next year. Cynthia says every time she watches Bret with Luna, they get better and better.
“It’s so fun to watch because she was a green horse watching from the first time I saw her,” she explains. “I was on vacation because I had just purchased her in the March to the Arch show and to be able to watch her progress throughout the year has been amazing.”
She’s no stranger to the winner’s circle herself, as she came back to showing after a 25-30 year break, followed by purchasing Multiple Congress, AQHA, and NSBA Champion No Doubting Me. She and “No No” quickly leveled out of L1 classes.
“I showed him through 2022, and then in early 2023, we decided to retire him and now he is living the life he’s earned so much,” Cynthia explains. “it took a while to find a new partner, and I’m excited to get back in the saddle. She’s just the sweetest, and she won this same class at the NSBA World Show – she’s had a great end of the season, so we’re excited to see where everything goes.
